New 4-year Cohort Graduation Rate Calculation Being Implemented
Effective with the 2009-10 school year, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) will begin implementation of a new methodology to calculate the graduation rate for all public high schools, comprehensive Career and Technical Centers (CTCs) and charter schools that graduate students from 12th grade.
Operation Restart is a statewide advocacy campaign to develop and advance a public policy agenda to ensure all young people to age 25 who lack a secondary credential have access to high-quality educational options that lead to a high school diploma or GED and postsecondary and/or industry credentials preparing them for a career with a self/familysustaining wage.
